Approximately 4 weeks ago I reported about fatigue I have been battling with this treatment I am on for hepatitis c called vekiera pac and ribavirin. Now in week six I thought the side effects were going to ease up but I was sadly mistaken. I have gotten lost while driving, been depressed, felt like bugs were crawling out of my skin, the FATIGUE, nausea, and bloating or swelling is just unbearable. I have cried like a baby to GOD begging for my life while all along just wanting this to be over. At week six all I want to do is cry and lay in the bed with no muscle tone happening at all. I am losing some of my muscle tone in my arms and legs.

I am supposed to have 6 weeks and 4 days of treatment left with another 12 weeks of recovery, but decided to stop treatment as of last night. This morning after missing another treatment my body is telling me about it. I have read some discussion posts saying there should be a taper down of the ribavirin but don’t know how true this is. Apparently the ribavirin stays in your blood stream for about the same amount of time if not longer than it was taken. At least this is what I am gathering from what I’ve read.

If anybody reads this and knows anything about this please post a comment and let me know what you think. I was UD at week 5 and am sure I am chancing a possible relapse of this terrible disease, just not sure I can go on any longer with it. My forgetfulness is terrible I have to ask at least 50 times a day what day it is. It’s almost like Alzheimer’s or dementia, the irritability and rage is awful at least that is what everyone I know seems to be telling me about myself. I am just an unbearable mess.
